Steiner opened the first maritime salon on board the Queen Mary in 1947. In 2001, Steiner Leisure Ltd acquired Mandara Spas – a resort group with nearly 50 resort spas across Asia and throughout the US.
Today, Steiner – which has also become increasingly involved in spa design – operates spas on board more than 136 luxury cruise ships, with facilities varying from ship to ship. Sophisticated therapies on the extensive menu include thalassotherapy (in dedicated thermal suites), hydrotherapy, and dry floatation treatments, as well as rasul – a popular mud-and-steam therapy. In addition, all ships offer a varied selection of Steiner signature treatments.
