Jemma Kidd, Professional Make-up artist

We have hooked up with top make-up artist Jemma Kidd to get some essential make-up tips for you to remember when you are working with make-up this coming season.

Make-up Tips:

  • Trends for the summer will carry through into early autumn, so keep make-up simple and light.
  • Moisturise well to restore moisture lost from sun exposure
  • Easy on the foundation, opt for concealers and bronzing creams/powders
  • Cream blushes all the way!  They tend to absorb into the skin rather than rest on it, so they are less affected by heat and perspiration
  • Keep it subtle: heavy, streaky make-up is not a hot look!
  • Don’t forget to sun-protect lips with a gloss or balm that contains SPF: sun damaged lips = cracked and damaged lips

Beauty Tips:

  • Light mascara that will life eyelashes up and away from the eye – very sultry!
  • Lip tints and stains work really well on cheeks too – experiment but remember to start with a little, you can always add more later
  • Use silky glosses rather than shiny ones this season: it’s a much more flattering look
  • Stock up on light-reflecting products: moisturisers, powders, all brands have illuminating products and they can be loosely applied with or without foundation to create a healthy summer glow that will last into the night!
